It’s been a while since I preached in my blog..hehe.. College is really a busy life. For me, you have to be flexible, because unexpected things always happen. Not like in high school, things flow smoothly mainly because there is consistency in schedule. I’m happy to say that I have adjusted to college life but I surely miss my af-friends…I’m looking forward for more reunions..hehe

*PS: Finally, no CWTS-class TODAY!! Freedom at last!!..hehe I will go back to my beloved alma mater together with my friends to attend mass. I’m very excited but I hope that this won’t be my last time to go back to sj.

A Glimpse to the Past...

It was like summer of year 2004, sometime in May, when I was so excited so get my class permit in Saint Jude…When I got my class permit, I felt happy to know my section at the same time nervous because I kept asking myself who would be my classmates…By the time Ken and Mac got their permits, I was really surprised to know that we were classmates for the first time in our high school stay. But this was just the beginning because some of my close friends during our (high school 2C) would eventually become my classmates too in my senior year. Isn’t that exciting to start the school year with almost all of my closest friends? What made 4B so special was because it was a section full of (kalokohan) =D and not to forget that this memorable batch & class I belonged to also had some achievements:

Last April 22, I, with a bunch of close friends (Choi, Mac, Harv and Atan), was supposed to leave Philippines and be arriving in Singapore that same day.. but fate was so kind that I was given a little more time to stay in the Philippines. At the same time, I was so ashamed to all of my friends' parents and it was a hassle to them because they have to help us rearrange all our papers (again and again..). So on April 25, everything went smoothly and we were able to depart Philippines at 1 pm I think. I don't know why we were delayed.. maybe it's just fate or something but at least everything is fine now.. heheSo here comes our biggest adventure ever.. Singapore Adventure without parents and this is the best way to be independent.. but of course all of us will be staying at our place with my 2 sisters.Everyday here in Singapore, we were so busy.. but we usually wake up late because we always go home late.. much later than when we were back in the Philippines. Anyway on our first day, we went to Orchard Road.. that's what's famous here, right? Then that evening we went to a famous place--Hawker Center, but we didn't really quite liked Singapore food.. maybe because it's too spicy.All they did here was to go shopping most of the time then we also went to Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and we also met Emil and Yao Ming..(the tall chinese teacher) haha quite coincidental, isn't it? Anyway, we were so funny during our trip in Night Safari because it was so dark.. and there were so many happy happy moments worth remembering haha.. We also went to Sentosa and we rode cable car and it was quite scary because it was so high.. in other words I really had lots of fun being with them. At least it made my first few days here in Singapore quite memorable! We also went to Merlion and we had lots of pictures taken but unfortunately, the CF card (memory card for digicam) got lost so I'm expecting CHOI and ATAN to share all of the photos.. (UY! NABABASA NIYO BA 'TO KAYA PLEASE EMAIL THEM TO ME NAMAN.. SHARE NAMAN HAHA THANKS!)It's already May 6 and only a few minutes from now the date will be May 7 and I want to greet Gian a happy happy birthday!!

The Dallas Mavericks officially became just the third team in NBA history to win a best-of-seven series after losing the first two games at home. The Mavs started the game drilling outside shots while Houston simply can’t connect from the outside. Terry bounced back from a poor Game 6 to finish with 31 points with 12 of 12 from the foul line. Howard also contributed big, recording a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. McGrady and Yao combined to score 60 points but only got 6 points off their bench. McGrady was held to 10 of 26 shooting. The Mavs outrebounded the Rockets 52-33 and got solid games from Dampier and Darrell Armstrong. Armstrong’s defense shut Mike James’ offense and blocked his layup to ignite the crowd. The Rockets also had poor shot selection, allowing Dallas to their biggest playoff vitory and largest in any Game 7 in NBA history. The Mavs will face MVP-Nash and the Suns in the second round.

Dallas 83 Houston 101

The Houston Rockets refused to go home as they rout the Mavs. Mike James and Jon Barry came up huge off the bench while Tracy McGrady was unstoppable once again as he finished with 37 points. Dallas was limited only to 13 fourth quarter points against the 32 by the Rockets. Dirk Nowitzki had a horrible night, finishing 5 of 22 from the field while Dampier n Howard both fouled out. Dallas simple played loose as they were outhustled by Houston. Mutombo defended the paint well, forcing the Mavs to settle for jumpers. Stackhouse was the lone star for the Mavs, scoring 21 points, but he too forced some of his shots in the fourth quarter. Although Yao finished only with 8 points, the Rockets got huge help from the bench led by Mike James’ 22 points. Dallas will try to become only the third team in NBA history to win a best-of-seven series after losing the first two games at home.

Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs withstood a late Rockets surge and held on to win Game 5 with a chance to close out the Rockets in Game 6. Dallas had some lucky breaks down the stretch. Yao was unstoppable in the fourth, scoring 15 of his 30 points, but he missed five crucial free-throws in the fourth period. McGrady added 25 but was held to 7 of 22 shooting. Stackhouse and Howard each added 17 for Dallas. Dallas will try to become only the third team in NBA history to overcome a 0-2 deficit after losing their first two home games. Terry made a free-throw to make it a 3 point ballgame but the Mavs intentionally fouled McGrady. Tracy missed the first, forcing him to intentionally missed the second but was luck enough to rebound his own miss and attempt a 3 pointer that hit the front of the rim as time expired.

Mac, Atan, Harbs and Arvin finished their 1 week adventure with Gerard at Singapore. During their vacation there, they shared some of their happy experiences thru YM late at night. =D Today, I had chatted with Gerard and he mentioned that “ FUN is the best word in life! " I certainly missed Gerard’s wacky and fun-loving attitude. It’s really sad to hear that but I will forever cherish all the fun memories we went through. =D

Trailing 82-88 in the fourth quarter, Michael Finley spoke to his teammates about not giving up. Finley hit two crucial jumpers in a decisive 7-0 run as the Mavs rallied in the fourth game to tie the series two games apiece. Jason Terry was the star of Game 4 as he finished with playoff career-high 32 points, hitting six three pointers despite committing five turnovers. Terry nailed a three pointer as he took a pass from Nowitzki with 26.9 seconds left to put the Mavs on top 94-90. McGrady was unstoppable once again, torching the Mavericks with 36 points 6 rebounds 5 assists but committed 5 turnovers. David Wesley nailed a three pointer, slashing the lead to one. The Rockets intentionally fouled Stackhouse. Having made the first one, Stackhouse missed the second free-throw but Josh Howard came from behind to tap the ball out off by McGrady. Yao added 20 points but saw limited action due to foul trouble. Dampier finished with two points and also fouled out.

Dirk led the Mavs with 28 points on 9-16 from the field to go along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Finley and Stackhouse both had big games with 20, 18 points respectively. The Rockets rallied from a 5 point halftime deficit and led by 4 after three quarters but the Mavs refused to let this one go away. The Mavs hit back to back triples in their 20-0 run while the Rockets missed their shots. McGrady finished with 28 points and Bob Sura contributed 21 points and 11 boards but the Rockets were shut down in the fourth quarter. The Mavs hope to win another road game in Game 4 and will try to become only the third team in NBA history to win a best of seven series after losing both Game 1 and 2 at home.

Today, April 26, is the 18th birthday of Paul Lawrence Lim and 17th birthday of Kendrick Nigel Tan. Last April 18, we celebrated Ken and Paul’s birthday in advance because Gerard won’t be able to make it if we would celebrate it today… We gathered dedications from the af and made a simple powerpoint presentation to them…=DThe brilliant idea of Mac of buying two basketballs for them…one each for Ken and Paul...was a great idea. We signed the basketballs and gave it to them as our surprise. They really had no idea that we were going to celebrate it in gt. Instead, I told them that they should go to gt because Gerard wants to “tambay” at gt for the last time. We used Gerard as an accomplice so that they would really believe that it was really for him. =D We also bought a Choco Roll for them and placed one candle in each side. Once again, Happy Birthday Ken and Paul!!! Meanwhile, it’s really hard to believe that we can’t hang-out with Gerard anymore coz he already migrated. =C We will surely miss “ superbata! ”

Tracy McGrady caught the Mavs flat-footed as he led the Rockets with 34 points, 6 assists and 5 boards while Nowitzki struggled from the floor. Dirk finished with 21 points but was just 5 of 19 from the field and had 6 turnovers. Mike James also contributed 16 points off the bench. The Mavericks got within 4 in the fourth period but the Rockets answered every Mavs’ run. Yao finished with 11 points and 8 boards but saw limited action due to foul trouble. The Mavs settled for jumpers instead of attacking the lane given that the Rockets had used a smaller line up.

Since they were not able to fly to Singapore last Friday...They decided to return to their respective houses..To my surprise, mac buzzed me in my ym coz he told me that he was home alone...only his dog "Queenie" was left in their house coz Mac's family all went to the beach...he told me he had to cook for himself because the maid also went to the beach and had to sleep in the sofa...hehe It was like a survivor challenge for Mac that day...From a possible amazing tour to Singapore to being a survivor in his own house...Unpredictable right??

The time has come…Sadly; our one and only Gerard will migrate to Singapore today. He will be accompanied by Mac, Arvin, Harbs. We had to make our surprise for Ken and Paul in advance just for Gerard. =D We had our last “ gt tambay ” yesterday with Gerard. The AF boys bought a pair of Chuck Taylor shoes while the girls framed our redbox pic as theire remembrance to Gerard. Gerard uniqueness is his asset. He can cheer up anyone with his wacky attitude plus his “ rapping " kidding aside. =D He maybe small in size but he definitely has a big heart. A caring friend and super adventurous, AF will surely miss him!! Gerard will always be remembered by AF!! Thanks for all the adventures and fun memories!! You are really a “ super bata ” in our lives!! Bon Voyage!!

~THE ADVENTURE FRIENDS~

Redbox..a place where you can relax yourself ..mostly for karaoke purposes and is located at the Greenbelt.. First of all, I would like to thank AF for making this “ Redbox ” experience possible. At last, this was the first time we were complete of all the “ gimmicks ” we had in the past. We had to assure that everyone would be able to make it because this was an important event to the whole AF because Gerard will soon leave for Singapore. Sad to say this but it seemed like this was our “ first and last ” time to be complete. We had to make the most of out this memorable “ gimmick ”. This experience would not be possible if not for Andie, Sd, Mac whom we had to make “ carpool ” on their respective cars. Andie, Jes, Paul, Nicky, Atan, Ken and I were the first batch to arrive there. Since majority of the stores were still closed, we took some photos as our pastime. Sd, Melay, Arvin, Den arrived twenty to thirty-five minutes later. The rest of the AF ( Gian, Mato, Mac, Gerard, Jawo, Harbs) made it just before twelve because we had to be at Redbox exactly at twelve noon. As soon as we entered our room, we cooled ourselves down…Our lunch was “ Roast Beef ”..this meal includes soup and one glass of iced tea. Though the price was a little bit expensive, we had no choice because our food was like our “ ticket ” =D We started to enjoy the karaoke and majority of us went bananas.These were just some of the lines we sang during our Redbox experience.

We also had a billiard table to enjoy ourselves. I could say we all ran out of gas after singing for almost three hours but the good thing was we had enjoyed this “ one-of-a-kind ” experience. After our Redbox experience, we went to the movie house and watched “ Spongebob Squarepants ”. Although it is not allowed to have picture taking inside the cinema, we were still able to have picture taking thanks to the person whom we asked to do the favor. To conclude this wonderful adventure, we felt happy because we were able to grant Gerard’s wish to go to Redbox with all the Adventure Friends!!

~Au Revoir to my GT Friend~

Last April 3, one of my closest friends Mellany moved to a new residence from GT to Tondo. This was quite hard because we almost spent our high school life together except for our freshman year. To give you a short background, Melay was a classmate of mine from Grade 4-6, High 2 & 4. In elementary, we were just simply classmates. During our sophomore year, we were classmates once again and I thought that this was the right time to know Melay more. Our books “ bonded ” more because we often share books especially if one of us accidentally forgot to bring home a book or notebook needed for the assignments. I never had the chance to give the book /notebook personally to her because I admit that I was quite shy. =D I always leave it at their lobby and just text her “ nasa baba na yung books... ” then she would reply “ ok..tnx! ” or the other way around when she was the one borrowing. I could say that this started our friendship. =D We did this until our junior year even though we were not classmates. Our willingness to help each other was also a reason why I mentioned that it was “ hard ” for me to see Melay leave. It’s not because of the books..etc…It’s because of our longtime friendship as “ GT Friends ”. =D During our senior year, I personally give the book / notebook sometimes not because I knew that she was going to leave someday but because I was not that shy anymore plus the fact that she is a member of AF!! That same year I found out that Melay was really very hospitable to her visitors. She would always give them a glass of “ Mila’s Iced Tea ” plus her wacky attitude made her fun to be with..hehe. These were just some of the unforgettable memories we shared in our high school life. She even wrote this as her “ last message ” to us.

The so called “ GT Friends ” was down to three of us. Sd, Nicky and I are the only ones left. It’s sad to hear that “ in everything we do, there would always be an end to it "…I hate to say this but this is reality. I assured that Melay would still visit us and that we will be Friends Forever!

Aside from April Fools Day, This April 1 was extraordinary because it was AF’s farthest adventure. Nine of the Adventure Friends went to Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna. This outing was planned last March 28, four days before April 1st. Mac, Gerard, Jawo, Den, Melay, Sd, Arvin, Ken and I went to EK. Our transportation was provided by Mac’s Space Gear. Since The EK opens at 2 pm, we arrived there an hour earlier and decided to have our lunch break at Walter Mart. We secretly kept seven bottles of mineral water inside my backpack because refreshments inside EK were quite expensive. As soon as we reached EK, we had our 100 % energy even though it was quite a humid day. Our first ride was “ Flying Fiesta ” because we thought this would cool us a little bit after a long ride at Mac’s car. If I’m not mistaken, Melay ate a candy after the ride because she felt a little bit dizzy. We had our souvenir shot after the ride. Then we passed through “ Brooklyn Avenue ” and had a short ride on Rialto. To spice up everything, Mac suggested that our next ride would be “ Space Shuttle ”. Den and Gerard immediately backed off because of Altophobia. Jawo, Mac, Ken, Melay, Sd and I were able to convince Arvin to join us, unfortunately, he rode the “ Space Shuttle ” by himself. =) While we were hanging on the air as the ride was about to start, Melay repeatedly shouted “piao we ah..piao we ah”. After the ride, I repeatedly jumped up and down as I was approaching Den and Gerard and tried to narrate my “ first time ” experience in riding “ Space Shuttle ”. Still both Den and Gerard were not convinced to ride it. Our next ride was “ Jungle LogJam ”, it may sound funny but we had to make “ kompiang ” to decide who would be together in the ride. Arvin, Gerard and Sd were the first to ride followed by Ken, Den and I then Mac, Melay and Jawo. After the ride we had our “ Ladder ” formation as we posed on the sides of the ladder and had our souvenir photo taken. Isn’t that nice? =D Just beside “ Jungle Log Jam ” we rode the “ Swan Lake ”. This ride was boring and I don’t really have something to share regarding this ride. We decided to ride “ Jungle LogJam ” once more…after the “ kompiang ”, (Me, Sd, Melay- “GT Friends”) (Jawo, Den, Mac) (Ken, Gerard, Arvin) were grouped respectively. Next was “ Anchors Away ”, again we were only seven because Den and Gerard didn’t want to accompany us. =D It was again my first time to ride “ Anchors Away ” and I felt so relaxed while riding because I imagined myself swaying in a huge swing. Then our next ride was “ Roller Skater ”, followed by Hot Air Balloon ride aka as “ Up,Up and Away ” then the Bump Car ride aka as “ Dodgem ”. Most of us felt dizzy and decided to catch a breather. Sd, Melay, Gerard, Arvin bought hotdogs while Mac, Den, Jawo bought ice creams. Ken and I just cooled ourselves down. We saw the “ Victoria Park ” and had a souvenir photo taken for Nicky because his middle initial was coincidentally “ Victoria ”. =D Since we got ourselves energized again, we decided to ride “ Rio Grande Rapids ”. We repeatedly rode it until most of us got soaked. =D By this time, the day was coming to an end but we were not done yet. We rode the “ Bump N’ Slash ” then “ Wheel of Fate ”. Except for me, Ken, Sd, all of them went to “ 4Discovery Theater ” while the three of us had walked around the “ Boulderville ” and took some souvenir shots. =D Our final ride was the “ Grand Carousel ”. Before we left EK, we bought 17 necklaces as souvenir for the whole Adventure Friends. I could say that this day was really an extraordinary one compared to all the adventures by AF.

Graduation Day!!

What a memorable day! The moment I’ve been waiting for….our Graduation Day! All our hardships finally paid off. The ups and downs we went through will always be treasured in our lives. Graduating from High School does not mean that we are free from trials and challenges; in fact, it is just the beginning of another chapter in our lives. This memorable episode of our lives would not be possible without God’s continuous guidance, our mentors who have guided us to our success, our beloved parents for their endless support, and our co-graduates for inspiring one another. From all the requirements to projects to examinations even to our darkest days as a student, the diploma rewarded to us symbolizes all that we went through while facing all the difficulties we encountered during our High School stay. To be able to graduate means a lot to every student. In behalf of SJCS batch 2005, I would like to greet my co-graduates a “ Happy Graduation ”.

Vacation..vacation...vacation..!!!

Holy Monday marks the start of the Holy Week. Some of my AF friends will have their vacation. Mac-Mac, together with his family, will be going to Korea while Arvin also with his family will be going to Quezon Province. Atan and Sd will both go to Baguio City (Summer Capital of the Philippines) even if it is just a coincidence. Some other time this week, Den-Den will go to Cebu City (Queen City of The South) while his cotangent Ken-Ken will be at Antipolo. Gian will be going to Hongkong. Nicky will visit his homeland China :) Jes will be going to Ilocos and last but not the least, Harbs will go to Camiguin. Andie is currently enjoying her vacation with her family at Hawaii and will be back next Monday (March 28). Meanwhile, Our graduation is fast approaching and our graduation practices will also come to an end. It’s sad to hear this hear but at the same time I also feel happy because we will all be graduating at last. We may have to part ways but I’m pretty sure we will always be Friends Forever!! Lastly, I would like to wish my AF friends a happy vacation and advance happy graduation!!! Take care guys!

Today, March 19, 2005, One of the AF's most active member and beloved friend of mine Andrea Loraine will be going to Hawaii together with her family. She will leave at around 4 pm in the afternoon. We will surely miss her wacky attitude for one week. I even told her to have some soveneir shots there. Yesterday, the Adventure Friends were still able to have lunch together with Andie. Unfortunately, five of us were not able to join Andie. From our wet trip to gt by Sd's "Mystery Machine" to SM, I could say that this was just the beginning because some of us will also have their own vacation this coming Holy Week. In behalf of AF (MeLaY, JeS, DeN-DeN, Sd, MaTo, GiAn, NiCkY, HaRbS, PauL, MaC-MaC, ArViN, JaWo, AtAn, GeRaRd, KeN-KeN) I would like to greet Andrea " Happy Hawaii ". Hulala ;)
